The honest number
How much does a wedding cost?
In the UK the average wedding is about £20,600, based on 2026 Bridebook and Hitched surveys, and £25,000 or more is common in London and the South East. Those figures cover a home wedding of 80 to 100 guests, and they climb fast once you add a Saturday in peak season, a bigger guest list, or a marquee.
A typical 80-guest Cyprus wedding modelled here lands around £15,900 including contingency, and leaner plans sit in the £10,000 to £12,000 range. That is the point of marrying abroad: you keep more of the budget and still get the venue, the food, and the photographer you actually want. This page is a wedding budget calculator you can use for the generic question too, then adjust every line to your own plan.
For the informational side, guest-count bands, hidden costs, and worked sample budgets, read the full Cyprus wedding cost guide. Use the calculator above when you want a live number you can share, print, or fine-tune.
Pricing logic
How this estimate works
Start with guests and region. The calculator then applies the venue style, ceremony route, season, and line-item choices to a fixed 2026 model. Food and drink scale with guest count. A few beauty, music, and planning lines are fixed because suppliers quote them by job, not by head.
The style control is deliberately labelled Lean, Typical, and Premium. Lean means budget-conscious picks across the board. Premium means higher package or supplier choices. Typical is more realistic than a flat middle setting because most couples mix tiers: they may choose a typical photographer, but a lean cake, flowers, DJ, transport, and planner line. The fine-tune rows show the actual tier behind each item.
Region changes only the lines that usually move by location: venue, food and drink, styling, and music. Limassol is modelled higher, Troodos lower, and Paphos and Protaras as the baseline. Season changes venue hire only. A 10% contingency is added at the end because final headcount, exchange rates, supplier meals, and small add-ons rarely stay at zero.
Main levers
What moves the number most
Guest count is the cleanest lever. At the typical tier, catering is £48 per guest and drinks are £30 per guest, so each extra guest adds roughly £78 before contingency. With the 10% contingency, that becomes about £86. Cutting 10 guests can therefore change the total by about £860 before you touch the venue.
Venue style is the second big lever. A private villa can be the right call for privacy, but it starts from a higher fixed hire line. A restaurant or taverna usually lowers hire cost and moves more of the spend into food and drink. A beach ceremony still needs a reception plan, so the calculator includes the beach setup and a restaurant reception.
The third lever is supplier scope. Photography is worth protecting, but video, live band, fireworks, extra bridal party beauty, favours, welcome drinks, and couple travel are optional lines. Use the fine-tune section to include only the extras you would actually book, then compare the result with the Cyprus wedding cost guide.
Where in Cyprus
Cyprus regions compared
Paphos and Protaras are the baseline in this model because they have deep wedding supply and enough mid-market hotels to anchor typical pricing. They are also where many UK couples start, especially when they want resort logistics and direct guest travel.
Limassol is set at roughly +15% on venue, food and drink, style, and music because marina hotels, beach clubs, and premium venues pull average quotes upward. Larnaca, Nicosia, and Polis sit around -5%, often because venue hire or supplier travel is less intense. Troodos is around -10%, with mountain village venues and a different accommodation pattern.
The cheapest region is not automatically the best fit. If 50 guests are flying into Paphos and staying nearby, a Paphos wedding may beat a cheaper hill venue once transfers and guest convenience are counted. Use the region setting as a quote benchmark, then browse reception venues by location.
Paperwork choice
Civil or symbolic ceremony
A civil ceremony in Cyprus is the legal route. The calculator includes town hall fees, Apostille, and a typical translation allowance. UK couples usually choose this when they want the Cyprus date to be the legal anniversary and are comfortable handling documents before travel.
A symbolic ceremony means you do the legal marriage at a UK Register Office, then hold the ceremony and reception in Cyprus. It can reduce paperwork stress and make location choice easier, especially for beach, villa, or remote venues. The trade-off is emotional rather than financial: you will have two dates, even if only one feels like the wedding.
If you are unsure, speak to a planner early. The wedding planners directory is useful because paperwork errors are one of the few Cyprus wedding problems that can become genuinely expensive close to the date.

Pricing basis
Sources and how we priced this
The calculator uses the published Cyprus wedding budget guide, 2026 UK average figures from Bridebook and Hitched surveys, and Cyprus vendor and package pricing from the directory research set. The UK comparison is fixed at £20,600 so your saving line is easy to read.
Prices last reviewed July 2026. Exchange rates, supplier availability, minimum spends, local taxes, and exact package inclusions can change. Use this estimate to decide whether your plan is broadly sensible, then ask venues and suppliers for written quotes that list what is included.
If the number looks workable, the next step is not another spreadsheet. Compare wedding packages, check all-inclusive package assumptions, then use the vendor directory to request real quotes.

Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the calculator?
It is a planning estimate, not a supplier quote. The engine uses 2026 Cyprus package and vendor pricing, region multipliers, season adjustments, and a 10% contingency. Treat it as a shortlisting number before you ask for date-specific quotes.
Does the estimate include guest flights and hotels?
No. Guest travel is usually paid by guests, so it is excluded from your wedding total. For context, guests often spend £500-£1,400 each on flights and accommodation depending on month, airport, hotel choice, and length of stay.
Is a Cyprus civil ceremony recognised in the UK?
Yes, a civil marriage in Cyprus is generally recognised in the UK once the paperwork is completed correctly. A symbolic ceremony is different: you do the legal marriage at a UK Register Office, then hold the Cyprus ceremony as the celebration.
Which Cyprus region is cheapest for a wedding?
Troodos is usually the lowest in this model, about 10% below baseline for venue, food, style, and music lines. Larnaca, Nicosia, and Polis sit about 5% below baseline. Limassol is the premium region at about 15% higher.
How much does peak season change the total?
The calculator treats May-October as peak and November-April as off-peak. Off-peak reduces venue hire by 10%. Food, drink, photography, planning, and paperwork are not automatically reduced because many suppliers keep similar base rates year-round.
Can I save, print, or email my result?
Yes. The share link stores your guest count, region, season, venue style, ceremony choice, target budget, and line-item choices. You can also print a clean A4 summary or email yourself the breakdown.
What is realistic for an 80-guest Cyprus wedding?
The default 80-guest Paphos hotel wedding lands at roughly £15,900 including the 10% contingency. Leaner choices can bring many plans into the £10,000-£12,000 range, while premium Limassol or villa plans move higher quickly.
What makes this wedding budget calculator different?
It runs on Cyprus-specific 2026 prices, not generic averages. It models your region and season, lets you toggle between £ and €, and needs no sign-up. Your plan saves in your browser and in a share link, so you can come back or send it to your partner.
Can I use this as a general wedding cost calculator?
You can, but it is built for Cyprus destination weddings. A UK-only wedding averages about £20,600, so the comparison line shows what you keep by marrying in Cyprus. The fine-tune rows let you re-price any line, so you can still model a plan that suits your own numbers.
