Ordering a wedding cake in Cyprus
Most Cyprus cake designers quote by the portion rather than a flat fee, so an 80-guest cake is really a question of how you serve it. A bespoke two-tier cake for around 60 people runs about €535 plus Cyprus's 19% VAT - roughly £545 all in. Smaller three-tier designs for 50-90 portions sit around €380-565 (£325-485), and per-slice pricing of about €11 a slice (£9-10) with a 15-portion minimum is common. Expect to pay a 50% deposit to hold your date.

Serving a crowd without overspending
The economical trick is a modest cutting cake for the photos backed by a hidden sheet cake, or a dessert table that doubles as the evening sweet course - both stretch further than a tall showpiece. Whatever you order, ask the bakery how the cake travels and where it waits before the reception. A fondant or ganache finish holds up in 30-plus-degree heat; buttercream and fresh cream need a cool room right up to the cutting. Confirm the delivery time, refrigerated transport and who sets it up, especially at a beach or villa with no kitchen nearby.
