What Vasilias Nikoklis Inn actually is

Vasilias Nikoklis Inn sits at 13 Troodos Avenue in Nikoklia, a village in the valley inland from Paphos, less than 20 minutes’ drive from the town centre. It is a restored country inn with more than a century of history behind it, owned by the Konstantinou family since 1983 and still run by them. There are original wooden beams, stone walls, a vine-covered courtyard, olive groves that produce the house olive oil and a restaurant serving Cypriot food and wine. The Inn is a board member of the Cyprus Agrotourism Company, which tells you something about how it sees itself.

For a UK couple weighing this against a Paphos beach resort, the difference is not scenery, it is control. Vasilias is hired exclusively and holds only one wedding ceremony and reception per day. The family and their team run the front of house, kitchen, bar and housekeeping themselves, which is unusual at this size. Our directory records a 4.8 rating from 147 Google reviews, and one UK operator lists a 5.0 TripAdvisor average from 221 reviews.

The trade you make is the sea. This is a countryside venue with a mountain backdrop, not a beachfront one. If a beach ceremony is non-negotiable, look at Coral Bay instead.

The two ceremony settings

The courtyard is enclosed and vine-covered, laid with rustic wooden chairs, and takes around 50 guests. It is shaded, which matters more than couples expect for a mid-afternoon Cyprus ceremony.

The eucalyptus garden is the larger option, with the mountains behind it, listed at up to 120 guests. For an 80-guest wedding this is the space you will be using.

Venue hire also gives you the pool, the veranda and the gardens across the day: ceremony in the courtyard or garden, drinks by the pool or on the veranda, dinner on the veranda under fairy lights. Ceremonial table, traditional wooden chairs, tables, linen, cutlery, crockery, napkins and staff are part of the venue fee rather than extras, which is one reason quotes here read more cleanly than resort quotes.

Civil, religious and symbolic ceremonies are all possible. Ceremonies run from 15:00 onwards on weekdays, with a supplement for weekend dates.

Eight rooms, and what happens to the other 64 guests

The Inn has eight en-suite double rooms, including a bridal suite, sleeping a maximum of 16. All eight are typically included in a wedding booking, with breakfast, and couples often take the night before as well. Rooms have tea and coffee facilities, a fridge, hairdryer, air conditioning and central heating. Cots and z-beds are available on request.

Sixteen beds against an 80-person guest list means most of your party sleeps in Paphos and travels in. That is manageable, and both the venue’s package structure and the planner packages account for it, with coach or open-top bus transport built in. But it is a line item, and it is the practical reason an inland venue is not automatically cheaper than a resort once you have moved 64 people twice in a day.

The upside is that the people who matter most, parents, siblings, the wedding party, wake up where the wedding is happening.

What it costs

Vasilias publishes its own prices, which puts it ahead of most Cyprus venues.

Direct from the venue. The All Seasons package is €3,985 including VAT and taxes for 20 adults, on 2026 and 2027 weekday rates. That covers exclusive use of the venue and all eight rooms with breakfast, arrival drinks (a lemonade bar, a beer bucket and prosecco), a cocktail reception, a village BBQ, local wine, water, prosecco for the speeches, a wooden arch with drape, fairy lights, dance-floor sparklers and rustic decorations. In sterling that is roughly £3,430, though the rate moves. A second package, Rustic Romance, covers 16 adults with three nights’ accommodation for November and December 2026 dates and is priced on request.

Additional guests are quoted per head. One operator lists food from €45 per person (about £39), so budget for the base package plus a per-head figure for the 60 guests beyond the packaged 20, and ask for both numbers in the same quote.

Through a planner. A Paphos planner publishes all-in figures for 2026 to 2028: €9,236 for 20 guests, €10,139 for 30, €12,451 for 50, €14,606 for 70 and €16,986 for 100. Those bundle venue hire across the courtyard, gardens, pool and veranda, the bridal suite for the wedding night, planning, coach or open-top bus transport for guests, lemonade on arrival, mojito or Pimms jugs, half a bottle of wine per guest with dinner, prosecco for the toasts, a village BBQ menu, full-day photography and videography, a musician for the reception, six hours of DJ, bridal flowers, a two-tier cake and a decoration allowance rising from €900 at 20 guests to €1,500 at 70. Weekend dates carry a supplement.

Other UK operators quote from £6,519 for 25 guests, or £7,995 for a 2026 package built around a 20-guest minimum.

Here is the number that matters for the typical UK couple. At 80 guests, the planner scale lands between the 70 and 100 figures, so roughly €15,000 to €16,000 all-in, or about £13,000 to £13,800. That is a full-service Cyprus wedding, photography and DJ included, inside the £8-15k band that sends most couples looking beyond the UK in the first place. It is one of the few genuinely comprehensive Paphos packages that does.

The legal fee sits outside all of it. Planner quotes list €632 (about £545) for the marriage licence and application, charged directly by the town hall. Paphos Municipality’s own 2026 schedule prices a usual civil marriage at €128.15 and a special, short-notice one at €281.92, with additional charges for ceremonies outside official hours or away from the town hall. An off-site afternoon ceremony is what pushes it to the higher figure. Confirm the exact amount at your first paperwork meeting.

The legal bit

The Inn provides the setting; Paphos Municipality’s civil marriages office administers the marriage. You apply in person after you arrive, with ten-year passports, birth certificates naming both parents, apostilled statutory declarations that you are free to marry, and photocopies of your witnesses’ passports. Originals or certified copies only.

Best months and the countryside factor

Inland Paphos runs warmer than the coast in high summer and cooler in the shoulder months, and a 15:00 ceremony start suits that. May, June, September and early October give you comfortable afternoons and long evening light for photographs. The venue also sells a November and December package, which is a genuine option for couples happy to trade swimming weather for lower prices and easier availability.

Bring a thin layer for evening in spring and autumn. The valley cools quickly once the sun drops, more so than a beachfront terrace.

Honest drawbacks

No sea. It is a valley venue with mountain views. Guests wanting a beach day will need to drive back towards Paphos.

Sixteen beds for eighty guests. Transport in both directions is unavoidable and needs to be priced, not assumed.

Capacity numbers vary by source. The venue and most operators list 120; at least one lists more. If your list is near the top end, get the seated-dinner maximum confirmed in writing before you send invitations.

Weekdays are the base rate. A weekend adds a supplement everywhere, and it is rarely quoted up front.

Per-head pricing beyond 20 guests needs asking for. The published packages are built around 20 people. The number you actually need is the marginal per-head cost for guests 21 to 80, and it is not on any public page.
