Why the Golden Coast Beach Hotel

The Golden Coast Beach Hotel sits on a peninsula in Pernera, just north of Protaras, with sea on three sides. It is a 4-star beachfront hotel with 228 rooms, every one with a private balcony, next to a small fishing shelter. For a couple planning from the UK or Germany, that setting does a lot of the work before you add a single flower.

What makes it stand out is how seriously it takes weddings. The hotel runs a dedicated wedding brand, Golden Coast Weddings, rather than treating ceremonies as a sideline. An in-house coordinator, Felicity, handles the paperwork and is there on the day, and a UK representative supports you before you fly. Reviews single her out by name, which is a good sign when you are trusting a venue you have not seen.

One policy matters more than any brochure line: the hotel holds only one wedding per day. Your date is yours, not shared with a second couple down the terrace.

The ceremony spaces

Golden Coast offers four distinct settings, which is unusually broad for a single hotel.

The Sea View Deck is the main civil and symbolic ceremony space, seating up to about 100 guests, with receptions for up to 150. Combined with the Antamoma top level, it can stretch to around 250 for larger parties.

The Anglican Chapel sits in a courtyard and is genuinely rare among Cyprus hotels, so if you want a traditional Anglican church wedding rather than a civil ceremony, this is a real draw. The courtyard seats up to around 80; confirm the exact figure when you enquire.

The Antamoma beach venue runs over three levels right by the water. As a reception space its top level seats up to about 80, with a party level below. Availability is limited in high season, so ask early if a beachfront ceremony is your priority.

For Orthodox or Maronite ceremonies, the adjacent Agios Nikolaos seaside chapel is available. Again, confirm its capacity when you enquire.

What the packages include and typical costs

Golden Coast Weddings sells four packages: Freedom, Grand, Luxury and Platinum. Prices include VAT and taxes and each is customisable. The hotel’s own site does not print figures, but operator listings put the four from around €950 (Freedom) and €1,800 (Grand) to €4,050 (Luxury) and €7,050 (Platinum). Treat those as starting points and request a written quote, since packages are tailored and Platinum is built around 35 guests.

Here is what we can pin down, framed as starting points to confirm:

• Venue fee: €1,000 for the Sea View Deck or €500 for the Chapel Area. Both are waived when you book one of the four wedding packages, and apply only to non-residents or couples not on a package.
• Catering: wedding menus start from €51 per head for a sit-down meal, or €45 per head for meze.
• Drinks: a drinks pass for non-resident or non-all-inclusive guests starts from €23 per head.
• Music: it can play until midnight, with a DJ or other entertainment arranged for an additional fee.

One line to budget separately: the packages exclude the municipal marriage fee of €452.78. That is the legal cost of the ceremony itself and no package covers it.

Guest logistics: rooms, transfers and the area

Because guests can stay on site, the Golden Coast keeps your wedding weekend contained. The hotel has 228 rooms, two pools, a spa, gym, kids’ club and several bars and restaurants, so families and older guests are covered without leaving the grounds.

The hotel’s beach, Louma Beach, holds Blue Flag accreditation for water quality and safety, and the shallow water suits swimming, which matters if children are on the guest list.

On arrival, the hotel is 63 km from Larnaca International Airport, the main gateway for UK and German couples, a drive of roughly 45 to 55 minutes. Confirm the current transfer cost with the hotel or your tour operator when you book.

The legal bit

The wedding package is the setting; the legal marriage is separate. Civil ceremonies in the Protaras and Pernera area are administered by the Paralimni Municipality Wedding Registry, under Cyprus Marriage Law 104(I)/2003. An appointed marriage officer travels to the hotel to conduct the ceremony in English, and it takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

You apply in person after you arrive, and the application is valid for three months. The hotel’s coordinator manages the documentation, but the fee and the paperwork sit with the municipality. Best months to marry here

The southeast coast is at its best in May, June, September and early October: reliable sun, warm sea and highs in the high-20s rather than the mid-30s. July and August deliver almost guaranteed sunshine but daytime highs of 32 to 34 degrees, which is a lot for guests in formalwear and for an afternoon ceremony on open sand.

Hold the ceremony in the late afternoon whatever the month, so the heat has eased and the light is soft for photos. Book early for peak dates, since the one-wedding-a-day policy means the best Saturdays go fast.

Honest drawbacks

No venue is perfect, and a few things are worth raising before you commit.

Marina works next door. A tour-operator advisory over noise and obstructed views from the Paralimni Marina and the harbour or fishing shelter runs to 2 November 2026. The main marina works are largely finished and recent guests report little disturbance, but ask the hotel how it affects sea views for your date.

Pricing takes digging. The hotel’s own site does not print package prices, so you find them through operators, then still need a written quote to fold in catering, drinks and the municipal fee. Read it carefully before you compare.

Antamoma books up in high season. The multi-level beach venue has limited peak-season availability, so if a beachfront ceremony or reception matters, ask about your date early.

German-language support is unconfirmed. The wedding materials read as UK-oriented. If you are planning from Germany, ask up front how they handle German-speaking couples.
